B Trucks

What exactly makes a Class B a Class B?

A Class B commercial driver’s license is a single vehicle with a gross combination weight rating of 26,001 or more pounds, or tow a vehicle not heavier than 10,000 pounds. The Biggest difference is the gross weight when hauling material. With the appropriate endorsements, you can drive the following Class B vehicles:

-Tractor-trailers

Class B Jobs

Making an educated decision is crucial when choosing which License class you want to train for. Some people have said that Class A is better than Class B, but we know that is based on personal preferences. Sure Class A covers most of Class B but it may be that you prefer focusing on smaller trucks.

The possibilities are almost as endless as Class A. Take a second the driving around and start to notice the amount of variety that Class A and B licenses have.

Have you seen the waste trucks driving around picking up trash and compacting it in from of your eyes? Most waste trucks are Class B with HazMat endorsement. Don’t let the fancy HazMat word throw you off or turn you away. It is actually very easy to have a HazMat endorsement added to your training. As long as you can pass a TSA background check for a TWIC card you will be good to go.

How about all the box trucks carrying furniture and such from warehouse to warehouse, or warehouse to homes. You can work for a delivery company such as Amazon, FedEx or DHL doing residential and/or business deliveries. I’m sure you’ve seen shuttle buses driving around….Well guess what, those are usually Class B with a P endorsement. The construction industry also has Class B dump trucks in need of drivers to haul dirt and debris.
